Utah Vacation Recap

I can hardly believe that we are heading back home to Oklahoma tomorrow. We have a great Christmas vacation visiting lots of family and friends. Here are a few pictures from our time here in Utah.

Cody was pleasantly surprised to find that Santa found him at his brothers house... I decided to put a stocking together for him and have it waiting for him on Christmas morning. His nephews were so excited to show him that Santa had brought him a stocking. Cody is showing off his monster truck "Taz" that he got.

There was not a whole lot to do at my house. My brother picked out a puzzle for us to do. It was basically the puzzle from hell. All the pieces were shades of blue, brown, and white. I'll never do that again. Cody got so bored he opted to work on the puzzle. To put that in perspective Cody never does puzzles...He only put a few pieces in.

We were lucky enough to go ice fishing 3 times over the break. I guess I went 3 times and Cody went 4. Since there is not much scenery in Oklahoma I took a picture of the mountains. They are so beautiful all snow covered. However it was freezing cold.

I caught the first fish of the day, if you can even call it a fish. I saw my bobber bounce a couple of times so I reeled my line up, the tug felt so light I didn't think anything was there. As you can see in the picture I practically caught a goldfish, it was actually a perch only about 4 inches long. Did I mention ice fishing is freezing cold? You probably gather that from how I am dressed but I was still cold. Cody's dad has a tent and a heater that he sets up to help keep me warm so it is not so bad. Thanks to Cody I now have a completed winter wear wardrobe. This includes my own bibbs, -60F boots, gloves, and my big coat. I can't decide if I am happy about this ...

Cody caught a few fish throughout the day. His were substantially bigger than my first one. We had quite the time, definitely the most exciting ice fishing trip I've had in a while...

This was my trout that I caught that was actually a decent size. I figured I better get a picture of it since my first was so wimpy. Cody commented on how he thinks I am a good fisherman. I don't know if he is saying that so that I will continue to go or if he really thinks I am good. Either way I like fishing in the summer when I am in a boat and getting a tan.
