I'm a Newbie, but I am Learning

That's right. I am couponing. My good friend Amy happens to be pretty darn good at clipping coupons and she knows all the right blogs and websites that help tell you what deals are out there. So I really have to credit her with my 60% savings this morning. For that being my first time I think I did pretty good! So let me break it down for you. First my store of choice was Homeland. You see out here Homeland doubles just about any coupon up to $1 EVERYDAY. So this morning I got up and checked out the online ad and compared what coupons I had. I was so excited I actually couldn't wait to shower and get ready I had to just go in my "just outta bed appearance".

  1. 3 boxes Kellogs Cereal (I choose Fruit Loops, I really like those:) Priced:$4.49 on sale for $2.24 a box -then used a $1 off 3 boxes (that doubled to $2 off) Total:$1.57 per box

  2. 2 (4 pack) boxes Xtreme 3 Schick Razors: Priced:$7.99 (now these weren't on sale but I did find a pack of razors that had a bonus 2 additional razors in it) Used my buy 1 get 1 free coupon. Paid $3.99 for each box and $.80 per razor

  3. 2 packages Stayfree pads (normally I wouldn't showcase a purchase like this especially since I don't even like/use pads but hey for this deal I figured it was worth it I'll force myself to use them eventually): Priced $3.69 each (unfortunately not on sale) Used my buy 1 get 1 free coupon. Paid $1.85 for each package

  4. 1 Skintimate moisturizing cream shave gel: Priced $3.79 Used my $1 off 1(that doubled to $2 off) Paid $1.79

  5. 2 3Musketeers Candy Bars: Priced $.87 on sale for $.79 Used my $.50 off 2 (that doubled to $1) Paid $.29 for each bar

  6. 2 packages Thin Spaghetti Noodles: Priced $1.55 on sale for buy one get one free. Paid $.77 for each package

  7. Shake 'N Bake: Priced $1.29 on sale for $1 Used my $.50 off 2 (doubled to $1) FREE

  8. 3 boxes Kellogs Poptarts Priced $2.59 on sale for $1.29 Used my $2 off 3 boxes coupon. Paid $.63 per box

  9. 5 boxes Special K Bars Priced $3.19 on sale for $1.59 Used my $3 off 5 boxes coupon.
    Paid $.99 per box

  10. 5 Weight Watchers Yogurts Priced $.85 Used my $1 off 5 (doubled to $2) Paid $.45 per yogurt

  11. 1 box Post Shredded Wheat Priced $4.09 on sale for $3.29 Used my $1 off 1 (doubled to $2 off) Paid $1.29

  12. 1 box Jello Mousse Priced $1.19 used coupon for $.50 off (I thought this was supposed to double but it didn't on my receipt so not sure) Guess I ended up paying $.69 for it. Darn

So all in all I think I got some pretty good deals. My total before tax for everything was $32.16 if you take out that non food items (razors etc can get pricey!) I paid $18.69 for all the food items shown above. The best part was the cashier at the end who said,"Wow, that was smooth". She is probably just jealous she has never couponed like that before. I think just maybe I've found a way to start a food storage. Happy couponing to everyone out there.

Woot woot, I feel so proud of you. Ha, totally kidding, but I really do think it's awesome. It's amazing all the stuff we can get for practically NOTHING! Nice work.
